3.5/secret baby/single parent/millionaire romance/small town

Let me just start by saying that I have really enjoyed what I've read of Devney Perry thus far (aka mostly the Edens series), but I am TIRED of the endings. IYKYK. I honestly think that's what is dragging the ratings down for me, and I would be *thrilled* if she switched things up. I have a lot of her books still to read, so that is my hope for the future.

Tattered follows Thea and Logan, who had a one night stand in NYC that resulted in an unplanned pregnancy. Logan didn't give Thea his last name, and she wasn't able to track him down to let him know about the baby (Charlie). Fast forward six years, and Logan runs into Thea in small town Montana, and meets his daughter.

I liked Thea and I liked Logan. I'm usually not crazy about single parent, but I loved getting to watch Logan fall in love with his daughter and come into being a father. Thea and Logan were good together, and the relationship was well-paced and well-written. I loved the small town aspect, and the fact that Thea knew exactly what she wanted and didn't waiver.

So why the middle of the road rating? It just didn't hit for me like some of Devney Perry's other books (Knox Eden will haunt me for the rest of my days). I thought all the interactions with Logan's family were a bit of a stretch. And some of Logan's actions really irritated me. It was a good read, but it wasn't GREAT. And I know she can do great. And then we have the third act incident that came out of nowhere and was completely random. Also- the endings. I. Am. Tired.

If the tropes in this book are your thing, I'd recommend Juniper Hill a million times before I would recommend Tattered. (but is that fair of me? will anyone ever be able to hold a candle to Knox??? idk).
